Academy Award and BAFTA-winning director Peter Ramsey found his new project. According to The Hollywood Reporter’s exclusive report, Ramsey is set to direct a live-action vampire movie called Blood Count, for which Ramsey already wrote a screenplay, and Paramount now gave it a green light.
Ramsey will serve as the writer and director, while LeBron James and Maverick Carter will produce the project with their SpringHill Company. Although it’s still unknown what the movie will specifically be about, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the movie will be set in 1950s LA. The movie is described as a noir social thriller with supernatural elements. Additionally, it was reported that the movie is loosely inspired by the life of Ramsey’s father, who was a jazz musician. Sounds really intriguing, we can’t wait to find out more about this project which is still in early development.
Peter Ramsey is best known for the animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which he co-directed with Bob Persichetti and Rodney Rothman. The trio won the Academy Award for the Best Animated Feature, which stopped Disney’s long-term domination when it comes to winning this award. The sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One), directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, will be released next October.
