The mystery about Parker Posey’s character Victoria Ratliff in The White Lotus season 3 has finally been cleared up, weeks after the season finale. The show’s creator, Mike White, gave the answer fans were waiting for about a confusing scene involving Victoria and Leslie Bibb’s character, Kate.

Season 3 of The White Lotus was a big success, with viewers hooked every week, trying to figure out who would become the next victim.

The season featured an amazing cast, and Parker Posey stood out as Victoria Ratliff. Victoria was one of the funniest characters because of her cold and distant attitude. But one thing that puzzled fans was why Victoria treated Kate so badly.

Sarah Silverman talked about this in an interview on Live with Kelly and Mark. She said she asked Mike White directly about the strange interaction between Victoria and Kate. Silverman wanted to know if there was some backstory they missed or if a scene got cut. Mike White’s reply was simple and honest. He said it was just to show that Victoria is, in his words, “a btch.”*

Silverman explained, “I emailed him and I said, ‘What’s up with Leslie Bibb — how come we didn’t find out why Parker Posey iced Leslie Bibb? Why did she pretend not to know her? Is it something you didn’t get to that got cut out, or like, what’s the answer?’ And he goes, ‘No, I was just showing that she’s a btch.’”

So there you have it, no hidden drama or big secret history between the two characters. It was simply a way to show Victoria’s sharp and unfriendly personality.
