Peacemaker Star Chukwudi Iwuji Officially Joined Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
The third installment of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise recently started production. Writer and director James Gunn shared on Twitter an image from the first day of filming, and fans noticed one new face – Chukwudi Iwuji – who previously worked with Gunn on DC show Peacemaker, which will debut in January on HBOMax.
Soon after he posted the first image on Twitter, James Gunn wrote another tweet, confirming that Iwuji joined the Marvel franchise in an undisclosed role. Gunn praised Iwuji’s talent and teased that his role is something that most big names in Hollywood would like to play. We can’t wait to find out what role it is.
Iwuji will appear in the upcoming DC show Peacemaker starring John Cena in a titular role. He will play the character Clemson Murn in this spin-off and follow-up of Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. The show also stars Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, and Freddie Stroma.
While the newest Gunn’s DC project will debut soon, and DC Films’ Walter Hamada said that Peacemaker won’t be Gunn’t last DC project, Gunn returned to that other comic book house to helm Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is set to hit theaters on May 5, 2023.
Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, and Sean Gunn returning to their respective MCU roles. Will Poulter also joined the film in the role of Adam Warlock.
