Peacemaker Strikes Again: Season 2 Teaser Debuts During ‘Inside the NBA’!

James Gunn and Peter Safran are currently hard at work trying to kickstart a brand new cinematic universe based on DC comics characters following the ill-fated DCEU. One of the most notable projects to survive the “reset” was James Gunn’s own ‘Peacemaker’ a show that’s returning for a second season this time as a part of DCU.
Co-CEO of DC Studios confirmed that ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 will be part of the DCU canon.
John Cena is back in the second season, alongside Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Robert Patrick, Frank Grillo, Sol Rodríguez, David Denman, and Tim Meadows.
While the official teaser trailer for the show is set to be released on May 9th, Inside The NBA revealed parts of it earlier than expected and you can check it out below:
The season was ordered in February 2022. James Gunn was set to write and direct all eight episodes. Filming was supposed to start in 2023. However, Gunn became co-CEO of DC Studios and focused on the Superman (2025) movie instead.
Previously, Frank Grillo confirmed that the season will be “all about revenge.”
Some filming happened in April at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Full filming started in June and finished in November 2024.
The season is set to premiere on the streaming service Max on August 21, 2025, and will consist of eight episodes.
