Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic Takes Center Stage in New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Footage
Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards has had quite the journey since stretching his way into the MCU. ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ introduced him alongside Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm, as Marvel’s First Family battled Galactus and the Silver Surfer. The gamble paid off, with the film opening to $118 million domestically and $218 million globally in its first weekend.
That film also planted the seeds for what comes next. Its mid-credits scene jumped 4 years into the future, showing Doctor Doom approaching a young Franklin Richards. Pascal and his co-stars are all returning for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, which arrives on December 18.
Now, fans have a fresh look at Pascal as Mister Fantastic, and it’s a surprisingly wholesome one. A new clip shared by fan account Pedro Pascal Daily shows Reed in a light blue Fantastic Four uniform and a Brooklyn cap, raising his arms triumphantly to a cheering crowd.
The footage comes from Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ preview that aired during Game 1 of the World Series. In the spot, Reed takes the mound and throws the first pitch to Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch.

The scene unfolds at Ebbets Field on Earth-828, the former home of the Brooklyn Dodgers. Fittingly, the preview matches the retro time period of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’, with New York Giants players visible in the background.

Marvel leaned hard into the baseball crossover. Modern MLB stars Freddie Freeman, Jacob Misiorowski, Bryce Harper, Randy Arozarena and Junior Caminero watch from the sidelines, with Misiorowski particularly impressed by Reed’s stretch.
The broadcast booth treats the moment like any other celebrity first pitch, with players joking about how big these ceremonial pitches are getting and wondering whether Reed could match Thor. Marvel shared the spot online with a simple tagline promising that worlds will collide.

The fun doesn’t last. The tease is interrupted when Doctor Doom attacks from the sky, triggering a sequence of movie clips featuring Steve Rogers, Thor, and more. Doom’s arrival sends Harper and the others running, though Freeman would rather grab a front-row seat to the battle.
The preview reinforces how central the Fantastic Four will be to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. The spot effectively uses Reed to link the Fantastic Four’s universe to the wider MCU, as Marvel stages the film less like a franchise chapter and more like a live event.

There’s been plenty of speculation about Reed’s role. A previous interview with director Matt Shakman went viral for seemingly suggesting Pascal’s hero would lead the Avengers. Speaking to the Associated Press, Pascal downplayed that idea, describing it as news to him and calling the framing a little misleading.
That aligns with recent official character descriptions, which place the leadership of the Avengers firmly with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. Still, Reed’s intellect will surely be crucial when heroes from 3 universes come together to face Doom.

Not everyone loved the World Series spot. Some fans were disappointed by the lack of fresh reveals, given how heavily the moment was hyped beforehand. Others felt the playful tone was exactly right, praising Marvel for blending the excitement of the playoffs with its biggest heroes.
Either way, the clip of Reed basking in the crowd’s applause has become one of the most shared moments. For a character who started out on his own Earth, it’s a charming reminder that Mister Fantastic is about to share a much bigger stage.
