Penélope Cruz, 51, Steps Out in London Showing off Her Incredible Figure in a Sculpted Dress
Penélope Cruz has traded classic Parisian elegance for bold French avant-garde style during her latest public appearance in London, delivering one of her most daring fashion moments in years.
During the promotion of her film The Bride!, directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, at London’s The Corinthia Hotel, the Spanish actress turned to French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus for a standout look that emphasized modern edge over her usual refined, conservative aesthetic.
She paired the design with dramatic Italian jewelry, creating a high-impact fashion statement. Just under a month ago, Cruz had been embracing French chic in a very different way.
While attending the Chanel Haute Couture show, where she was photographed alongside stars including Dua Lipa and Carlota Casiraghi, she wore a classic ensemble from the French fashion house that reinforced her traditionally elegant, more conservative style.

But as she begins international promotion for her new film, she appears ready to experiment with a more daring fashion language. At The Corinthia Hotel, where she was presenting the film alongside co-stars including Jessie Buckley, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Christian Bale, Cruz stepped away from Chanel and instead chose one of the most in-demand French designers of the moment.
She wore a design from Jacquemus’ Fall/Winter collection. The black midi-length dress featured a round neckline that created a pronounced décolletage effect, long sleeves, and a fitted waist that highlighted her silhouette.
The design was finished with decorative faux fringe detailing that gave movement and texture to the look. The dress had previously been worn by French model Tina Kunakey during Jacquemus’ men’s collection presentation for Fall/Winter in Paris on January 25.
On the runway, the design was also shown in additional colorways, including a yellow version as well as a black-and-white bi-color interpretation. The contrast detailing could be seen in the long ring-like embellishments that functioned as fringe along the skirt.
To elevate the dramatic effect of the outfit, Cruz added statement jewelry. The actress, who plays Myrna Mallow in the film, which follows a Frankenstein-inspired story set in 1930s Chicago, where a scientist seeks help from Dr. Euphronius to create a female companion, opted for bold Italian-designed accessories.
Her long, baroque-style earrings came from Roberto Cavalli and featured floral shapes, red stones, and pearls. The ornate design added a theatrical, glamorous finish to the outfit, perfectly complementing the powerful visual impact of her London appearance.
The overall look marked a clear style shift for Cruz, blending French avant-garde fashion with Italian jewelry craftsmanship while signaling a move toward more experimental red-carpet dressing during her film promotion tour.
As of February, Cruz is fully immersed in the launch of The Bride!, which is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 6. This gothic romance, produced by Warner Bros. after a high-profile move from Netflix, serves as Maggie Gyllenhaal’s second directorial effort following The Lost Daughter.
The film features a powerhouse ensemble including Christian Bale as the monster and Jessie Buckley in the titular role, alongside Annette Bening and Peter Sarsgaard. Beyond the horror genre, Cruz has several high-profile projects currently in post-production.
She is set to star in the upcoming thriller The Invite, as well as a new project titled La Bola Negra. Additionally, she remains a brand ambassador for several luxury houses, continuing her long-standing relationship with Chanel while increasingly branching out into contemporary labels like Jacquemus for her red-carpet appearances.
