‘Percy Jackson’ Season 3 Drops Major Update
Percy Jackson and the Olympians fans have something big to be excited about. Even though season 2 hasn’t come out yet, season 3 is already in the works. According to the show’s official Instagram, filming has now started for the next chapter of the Disney+ series.
The photo shared shows Walker Scobell, who plays Percy, holding a clapperboard on set. It looks like it has the logo for the upcoming season, which will be based on the third book in Rick Riordan’s series, The Titan’s Curse.
Back in March 2025, before season 2 even had a release date, Disney+ had already decided to move forward with season 3. This early renewal showed a lot of confidence in the show, especially after season 1 got a strong 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and became one of Disney+’s most popular original shows.
Season 2 will cover The Sea of Monsters, and it’s set to premiere on December 10. That news was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, where they also confirmed that the third season will follow The Titan’s Curse. During that event, it was also announced that Levi Chrisopulos and Olive Abercrombie will join the cast as Nico and Bianca di Angelo, two demigod siblings from the books.
One exciting detail from the new season is that it will include Westover Hall, a boarding school that plays an important part in the beginning of The Titan’s Curse. That’s where Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia try to rescue the di Angelo siblings. The set photo hints that this location is already being filmed.
Even before the first season aired, author Rick Riordan had mentioned that he and showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz were already planning out stories for seasons 2 and 3.
“We’ve been laying the groundwork for future seasons from the very beginning,” Riordan shared during early production. That planning seems to be paying off, as filming for season 3 is starting right on schedule, just like with season 1.
If the team follows the same timeline as before, fans could see Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 3 hitting Disney+ as early as December 2026.
