‘Percy Jackson’ Turns the Empire State Building Into Mount Olympus
In Rick Riordan’s ‘Percy Jackson’ books, Mount Olympus sits high above the Empire State Building, reached through a secret 600th floor. For years, fans have wondered what that hidden home of the gods would look like in real life.
Disney+ is now answering that question. As ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ prepares for its third season, the streamer is bringing a piece of the gods’ world to one of New York City’s best-known landmarks.
Disney is launching “Olympus Awaits,” an immersive fan experience inside the Empire State Building, as People first reported in an exclusive. It runs from Monday, November 16, through Friday, December 4.
Visitors will travel up to the “600th floor,” where they’ll find a Throne Room filled with towering thrones inspired by the Greek gods. The space also includes hidden references to the series, interactive elements, and immersive photo spots.
The experience is part of the Empire State Building Observatory visit, so it’s included with Observatory admission. Show-themed touches will also appear throughout the building. Some visitors will leave with a souvenir from the gods. During the week, select guests will receive special keepsakes, including a key to Olympus and other “godly treasures.”

Fans who don’t go up to the Observatory can still join in. A “Hand of Talos” installation in the ground-floor ticketing office offers a free photo opportunity open to the public. The building’s gift shop will also sell limited-time ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ x Empire State Building merchandise.
The celebration will light up the New York skyline. On Friday, November 20, the Empire State Building will glow in colors inspired by Olympus for a display called “The Glow from Olympus.” That date is also the Season 3 premiere. New episodes arrive on Disney+ and Hulu, where the first 2 seasons are already streaming.

The promotion isn’t limited to New York. Disney’s “Offerings from Olympus” campaign brings blue-themed treats and discounts to partner businesses across the country from November 16 to 22, depending on the location.
Highlights include a blue rainbow bagel at Utopia Bagels in New York, a blue velvet cupcake from Georgetown Cupcake, and blue cake batter ice cream at J.P. Licks in Boston. Tiff’s Treats is offering $5 off cookie orders online with the code DEMIGOD.
The new season adapts ‘The Titan’s Curse’, the third book in Riordan’s series. According to Disney’s synopsis, Annabeth is captured by the forces of Kronos, sending Percy on a dangerous journey to rescue her.

Along the way, he has to free a goddess in chains, face the Titan’s curse, and stop Olympus from falling. Holt McCallany plays the Titan Atlas. Speaking at New York Comic Con in October, Walker Scobell said Annabeth’s absence forces Percy to step up, since he has relied on her to make big decisions in the past.
He also teased early tension between Percy and Thalia, explaining that the 2 realize they have to find a way to work together. Scobell returns as Percy, alongside Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth, Aryan Simhadri as Grover, Charlie Bushnell as Luke, and Tamara Smart as Thalia. Dior Goodjohn, Daniel Diemer and Lin-Manuel Miranda are expected to return as well.

New additions include Levi Coopulos and Olive Abercrombie as Nico and Bianca di Angelo, Dafne Keen as Artemis and Saara Chaudry as Zoë Nightshade. Kate McKinnon plays Aphrodite. Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg created the series. For fans in New York, the Empire State Building takeover offers a fun way to step into Percy’s world before the premiere.
