Pink Responds, 46, to Rumors of Splitting from Husband Carey Hart After 20 Years
Pink has stepped forward to put rumors to rest about her marriage to Carey Hart, insisting that the couple is not separating after 20 years together. The singer took to Instagram to address a report claiming that she and Hart, a former professional motocross and off-road racer, were splitting for the second time.
“So I was just alerted to the fact that I’m separated from my husband,” Pink said in the video. “I didn’t know. Thank you for letting me know. Would you also like to tell our children? My 14- and 9-year-old are also unaware.” She added, “Do you want to talk about my accomplishments or do you only want to talk about my supposed demise? So fake news, not true. I love you all.”
Pink, whose real name is Alecia Moore, first met Hart at the 2001 X Games in Philadelphia. They dated on and off before he proposed in 2005, and the couple tied the knot in Costa Rica in January 2006.
Their relationship hasn’t always been smooth, two years into the marriage, they separated briefly. Despite that, they stayed amicable, with Hart even appearing in the music video for Pink’s hit single “So What,” which drew inspiration from their rocky relationship. By 2009, they had reconciled and called off their divorce.
The couple has two children, daughter Willow Sage, 14, and son Jameson Moon, 9. Pink has often highlighted her family in public appearances, and Willow has even performed alongside her in major shows. Reflecting on one of these moments, Pink praised her daughter during her Icon Award acceptance speech at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, saying, “Willow nailed it! Jameson, nailing it.”
In 2023, Pink spoke about her marriage in a cover story with PEOPLE, explaining how she and Hart manage to stay together despite their independent nature. “He and I are independent to a fault. That’s probably why we’ve stayed together so long, because we can live completely separately and then be together,” she said. “We don’t need each other. We choose each other.”
Representatives for Pink and Hart did not respond immediately to requests for comment from Entertainment Weekly, the outlet reporting on the Instagram statement.
Pink’s video seems to have clarified the situation, reminding fans that appearances and rumors in the media don’t always reflect reality. It also shows how the couple values keeping their children out of the spotlight when it comes to personal matters.
It’s refreshing to see a celebrity directly addressing rumors instead of letting them spiral. Pink’s honesty and humor make the situation clear while keeping it grounded in family values. What do you think about how she handled this rumor? Share your thoughts in the comments.
