‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’ Revealed According To Latest Reports
Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is starting to take shape, and fans are getting their first look at what’s planned for the next chapter in the swashbuckling saga.
According to Jeff Sneider, the upcoming film will center on Jack Sparrow’s son, who is likely to be connected to Margot Robbie’s character. The project is reportedly a priority for Disney’s new leadership, signaling that the studio wants to keep the franchise alive and fresh.
Krysty Wilson-Cairns, known for writing 1917, is in talks to pen the script. If confirmed, her involvement would mark a new creative direction for the series, which has seen multiple attempts at sequels, reboots, and spin-offs over the years.
The journey to Pirates 6 has been long and complicated. Originally, Disney had considered shooting the fifth and sixth films back-to-back, but only the fifth, Dead Men Tell No Tales, was completed.
Over the years, several directors, writers, and cast members were linked to the project. Kaya Scodelario had a contract to return, while Orlando Bloom has expressed interest in reprising his role as Will Turner. Keira Knightley, however, has confirmed she will not return, joking that her character sailed away “in brilliant style.”
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has repeatedly confirmed that multiple Pirates projects are in development. In 2024, he clarified that Disney was working on a full reboot and a separate Margot Robbie-led film. He explained that the reboot would not follow previous characters but left the door open for Johnny Depp to return.
Bruckheimer said in 2025 that the sixth film would include both returning cast members and new faces. “If he likes the way the part’s written, I think he would do it,” Bruckheimer said regarding Depp’s potential involvement.
The Robbie-led installment seems to be moving forward with Disney’s support. Christina Hodson, known for action-heavy scripts, has been attached to write, indicating that the studio wants a modern and dynamic approach. Meanwhile, Craig Mazin and Ted Elliott’s previous scripts have also influenced development, though delays like the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike slowed progress.
This next chapter in the Pirates saga promises to blend legacy characters with new blood, putting Jack Sparrow’s son and Robbie’s character front and center. Fans are curious how the story will balance nostalgia with fresh storytelling, and how much of the original crew might return.
This approach could breathe new life into a series that has grown both loved and criticized over the years. Bringing in Margot Robbie and a next-generation character is smart, as it gives longtime fans something familiar while opening the door to a new audience.
I’m curious what readers think—are you excited to see the next Pirates adventure focus on Jack Sparrow’s son, or do you worry it might stray too far from what made the originals great? Share your thoughts in the comments.
