Plans are Reportedly in Motion for Nicolas Cage to Return as Ghost Rider in Marvel’s Secret Wars

Avengers: Secret Wars is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling upcoming MCU projects. As the conclusion of the Multiversal Saga, it is expected to dramatically reshape the cinematic universe.

The film is rumored to feature nearly a hundred characters, with some inclusions making sense and others being too speculative to confirm at this stage.

We’ve previously covered rumors about Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and Ioan Gruffudd’s Reed Richards appearing in Avengers: Secret Wars. However, there’s another exciting rumored appearance that fans have been increasingly rallying for.

According to Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez, Marvel Studios is reportedly planning to include Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider in the film.

Laurie Rolfe: Hi Alex, hope you’re doing well. Do you know if we’ll see Tobey Maguire and Nicolas Cage return as Spider-Man and Ghost Rider respectively for both Doomsday and Secret Wars?

Alex: It’s in discussions, but yes, the idea is to have them appear at the very least in Secret Wars.

Nicolas Cage played Ghost Rider in several films, which, despite their lackluster critical reception, developed a cult following. Fans now look back on that era of Marvel movies with a sense of nostalgia.

So, why might this appearance be more likely than others? Ryan Reynolds recently mentioned that Cage’s Ghost Rider was considered for a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, but it didn’t happen for unspecified reasons.

Additionally, Cage is back in the superhero realm, working on Amazon’s live-action Spider-Man Noir series, where he reprises his role from the recent Spider-Verse film.

The MCU is also reportedly developing a Ghost Rider project, though it’s unclear whether this Ghost Rider will be Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, or Robbie Reyes, who is already part of the MCU.
