PlayStation Reportedly Set to Launch Upgraded PS5 Pro Model Soon
Sony is reportedly preparing to release a new version of the PS5 Pro soon, according to Dealabs.
The upgraded console first launched nearly a year ago, but developers have faced some challenges, particularly with its PSSR technology. Now, it seems Sony is planning a revision of the hardware, though details are still limited.
The new model is said to carry the number CFI-121 and is expected to launch in Europe starting September 30. There is no official word yet on a release date for the U.S., but it could follow soon after.
While the console itself won’t look any different, the main improvement is expected to be better energy efficiency. “Sony has been focusing a lot on making their consoles more energy friendly,” the source explained. The internal 2TB SSD will remain unchanged, so performance and storage should be the same as the current PS5 Pro.
This update seems aimed at refining the console rather than overhauling it completely. Fans can likely expect the same gaming experience but with lower power consumption, which may help with both running costs and environmental impact.
It’s smart for Sony to focus on efficiency while keeping the hardware familiar. It keeps the console accessible for existing users while making small but meaningful improvements. What do you think about this new PS5 Pro revision? Share your thoughts in the comments.
