‘Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble’ Reveals Which Disney’s Darkest Characters Will Serve as The Villains
The Twisted Childhood Universe (TCU), or Poohniverse, is a British horror movie series created by Rhys Frake-Waterfield. It reimagines children’s characters as scary over-the-top villains.
The first movie, ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’, got bad reviews from critics and mixed reactions from fans but still made money. People criticized its script, acting, filming, and lack of humor, and it won five Razzie Awards but that single movie still managed to kickstart a franchise and Frake-Waterfield has promised to improve the quality of future films.
Now the franchise is ready for its big event, ‘Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble,’ the most ambitious crossover you will ever see, at least in this context.
The movie will feature evil versions of Winnie-the-Pooh, Peter Pan, and other childhood characters in a chilling twist on nostalgia. While most details are still secret, some villains will be more dangerous than others, and surprising Disney icons will join the story.
Scott Chambers, a producer and director of ‘Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare,’ revealed that Peter Pan, as a child-abducting villain, will be the most evil character. He’s so bad that viewers might actually root for Winnie-the-Pooh by the end of the movie.
So every film will feel different, and this one is incredibly dark for a reason. I need you to feel a certain way about Peter Pan. By the time we get to Poohniverse, because I need you to just not like him, I need you to be against him from the get-go. Because when he goes into the arena with, for example, Pooh, I need you to look at Pooh like He’s not all too bad.
Chambers revealed that Peter Pan will team up with other evil versions of childhood characters, including Mary Poppins and the Mad Hatter, in ‘Monsters Assemble.’
Mary Poppins will also be a child-snatcher, making her a fitting ally for Peter Pan. Chambers hinted that Peter, Mary, and the Mad Hatter will be the most dangerous villains in the story. While Peter Pan has already been introduced, the other two will get their own movies later.
I’ve not really spoken much about this yet, but Mary Poppins will be in it, and she’s going to be a kiddy snatcher as well. So I’m sure her and Peter Pan are going to get on like a house on fire. And then there’s also the Mad Hatter. I think those three are going to be the worst of the worst. We’ve introduced Peter and later down the line we will introduce the other two in their own films.

No one is safe, not even fan-favorite heroes like Christopher Robin or Wendy Darling. Chambers, who plays Christopher Robin, said he plans for lots of character deaths to raise the stakes. Both heroes and villains could die, making survival rare and the story intense.
