‘Power’ Star Reportedly Shockingly Arrested on Child Cruelty and Disorderly Conduct Charges in DeKalb
Alix Lapri, best known for playing Effie Morales in Power Book II: Ghost, was arrested in DeKalb County last week. Records show she was charged with disorderly conduct and cruelty to children in the third degree.
The actress, whose real name is Alexus Lapri Geier, was booked into DeKalb County Jail on August 18, 2025, just before 5 p.m. She spent around 24 hours in custody before being released.
The arrest has shocked fans, who are still waiting for more details about what led to the charges. For now, all that has been made public is her mugshot, which quickly spread online.
According to WSB-TV in Atlanta, no court records have been released yet to explain the reason behind the charges.
Interestingly, Lapri’s sister, Alijsha Lenea Geier, was arrested the same day on similar charges. She was booked on August 18 around 9:45 p.m. and released the following evening.
Reports say the alleged incident happened on August 10. Social media chatter suggests the sisters may have gotten into an altercation in front of Alijsha’s daughter, Harmony, though this has not been confirmed by officials.
Amid the speculation, Lapri broke her silence on August 25 with a short Instagram Story showing herself dressed up and walking, adding only three emojis as a caption. Her sister also posted a video of her daughter sitting beside Lapri at a restaurant, captioning it with purple hearts and the words “4 Lifers.”
Her Power Book II: Ghost co-stars also spoke out online. Gianni Paolo joked under her mugshot, “Mugshot fine asf @michaelraineyjr.” Michael Rainey Jr. agreed, replying, “He ain’t lie tho.”
Rainey later defended Lapri against criticism, saying, “On the real though, y’all gotta start reading before commenting. She didn’t hurt any kids. Y’all are hoping that’s the case so bad… That’s crazy. Smh.”
Right now, the actress has not spoken directly about her arrest, but with media attention growing, many are waiting to see how she will address the situation.
