Hotel Transylvania returns for one final ride. The fourth installment of the popular animated monster comedy, officially titled Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, will be released exclusively on Prime Video on January 14, 2022. And now, Prime Video revealed the official trailer.
Hotel Transylvania franchise started back in 2012 with Genndy Tartakovsky’s movie of the same name. The movie starred the voices of Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade, and CeeLo Green. The story followed Dracula, the owner of the hotel for monsters and the father of Mavis. But when the hotel is unexpectedly visited by Jonathan, the first human that ever set foot in Drac’s hotel, many unexpected and comedic situations started to happen.
The first movie grossed $358 million against an $85 million budget. Two sequels followed in 2015 and 2018, respectively. Hotel Transylvania was set to be released theatrically in October 2021, but due to the pandemic, Sony Pictures sold the release rights to Prime Video for $100 million, so now the movie will be released exclusively on the streaming service on January 14, 2022.
Genndy Tartakovsky directed the previous three movies in the franchise, but this time the movie was helmed by Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon. Also, after Adam Sandler voiced Drac in the first three movies, this time the character will be voiced by Brian Hull, while Selena Gomez and Andy Samberg reprise the roles of Mavis and Johnny. Kathryn Hahn, Jim Gaffigan, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade, Keegan-Michael Key, Fran Drescher, and Asher Blinkoff are reprising all returning to reprise their respective roles from the previous movies in the franchise.
