Prince William Steps Inside the TARDIS During Doctor Who Set Visit
Prince William got a special tour of the Doctor Who set last month, giving fans a rare glimpse of the royal stepping into the world of time and space. The visit took place at Bad Wolf Studios in Cardiff, which is home to Doctor Who and other popular series like His Dark Materials.
During his tour, the Prince explored the interior of the Fifteenth Doctor’s TARDIS and spent time at the central console.
Kensington Palace shared photos of him inspecting the set and experiencing the iconic time machine first-hand. By doing so, he followed in the footsteps of all the actors who have played the Doctor, from William Hartnell to Ncuti Gatwa.

The Prince also visited the set of The Other Bennet Sister, an upcoming period drama scheduled for release in 2026.
He met with recipients of the Prince William Bursary and joined a classroom puppetry workshop at St Albans RC Primary School, supporting young talent and creative learning.
A video montage of his visit was posted on Kensington Palace’s social media, which included the message:
“Ahead of sharing a special message at the @baftacymru Awards this evening, it was a pleasure to spend time at Bad Wolf Studios Wales in Cardiff, meeting trainees supported by @bafta’s Prince of Wales Bursary and Screen Alliance Wales, exploring the sets of The Other Bennet Sister and Doctor Who, and joining St Albans RC Primary School for a classroom puppetry workshop. From period pieces to all of time and space, both the BAFTA bursary and Bad Wolf Studios are actively inspiring future generations of creative talent. Well done to all those involved, and best of luck to tonight’s nominees!”

Over the years, the Doctor has occasionally interacted with royalty on screen. One memorable example is David Tennant’s Tenth Doctor saving Buckingham Palace in the 2007 Christmas special, Voyage of the Damned. Fans have joked about the possibility of Prince William making a cameo in the future after his visit, though nothing has been confirmed.
