Priyanka Chopra, 43, Sizzles in Hot Pirate-Inspired Look at “The Bluff” Screening
Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently turned a simple screening into a high-stakes adventure, celebrating the upcoming release of her latest project with a maritime flair. The actress attended a special AGBO and Prime Video creator screening for The Bluff, an event that was playfully billed as a one-of-a-kind pirate party.
The atmosphere was electric as the star-studded crew surprised the audience with an unannounced appearance and a deep-dive Q&A session. We packed the house and surprised everyone, the production team shared, highlighting the excitement of bringing the film’s gritty Caribbean world to a live audience.
Chopra Jonas was joined on stage by her co-star Karl Urban, director Frank E. Flowers, and writer Joe Ballarini to discuss the rigorous preparation required for the film. For Priyanka, the role of Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden was an opportunity to showcase a level of physical intensity and maternal ferocity that she hasn’t explored on this scale before.
The screening served as the perfect countdown for the film’s global launch, with the team expressing their gratitude to the fans who attended. Thank you to everyone for coming to party with the pirates, the organizers noted, as the countdown to the digital premiere officially hit its final stretch.
The Bluff is a swashbuckling action-thriller set in the 19th-century Cayman Islands, centering on Ercell, a former pirate living a quiet life that is violently interrupted. When her former captain, Connor, portrayed by a menacing Karl Urban, arrives seeking vengeance, Ercell must use her lethal skills to protect her family.
The film marks a significant collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, promising a “hard-R” rating for its visceral combat and tactical traps. Alongside Chopra Jonas and Urban, the cast features Temuera Morrison as a dangerous quartermaster, Ismael Cruz Córdova as Ercell’s husband, and Safia Oakley-Green.
Priyanka has been navigating an incredibly productive 2026, juggling her responsibilities as both a leading lady and a producer through her company, Purple Pebble Pictures. She recently completed filming the highly anticipated second season of the global spy thriller Citadel, which is expected to return to Prime Video later this year.
Her upcoming schedule remains packed with high-octane projects, including the action-comedy Heads of State, where she stars alongside John Cena and Idris Elba. She is also set to return to her Bollywood roots with the road-trip drama Jee Le Zaraa, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt, which has finally moved back into active development.
Karl Urban, meanwhile, is entering a major transition period as he prepares for the series finale of The Boys this April. Fans are eager to see him move from the cynical Billy Butcher to the vengeful Captain Connor, a role that allows him to lean into a more traditional, yet equally brutal, form of villainy.
The Bluff officially debuts on February 25, exclusively on Prime Video for audiences worldwide. With its blend of historical drama and large-scale action, the film is positioned to be one of the streaming platform’s biggest cinematic events of the spring season.
