Producer Tetsuya Kinoshita on the Future of ‘Attack on Titan’: “We’d like to continue planning and holding many more events in the future.”

Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan franchise is one of the most popular animanga franchises in recent years. The manga ended in 2021, while the original anime ended in 2023, although a movie was released after to give the anime a majestic cinematic ending.
And while Isayama hasn’t released or announced any additional material from the world of Attack on Titan, at least not any that would function as a proper sequel to the original storyline, it seems that the franchise is far from being over.
Namely, during the recent Attack on Titan – Beyond the Walls World Tour event, a guest appearance sparked rumors that there is something cooking in the background and if it is true, it could be a big thing for fans of the franchise!
During the event held on April 12, producer Tetsuya Kinoshita made a guest appearance at the event and he talked to the fans. And while the musical aspect was the primary one, at one point, he asked the fans: “Has anyone seen The Last Attack?”
And this is where his short speech began. “The story of Attack on Titan has concluded, but we’d like to continue planning and holding many more events in the future, such as movies like THE LAST ATTACK, this concert, and many game collaborations,” he said. “We look forward to meeting everyone again on our 15th and 20th anniversaries, and we hope to continue for a long time.”
And while musical events are nothing unusual in the world of anime, the fact that Kinoshita has teased more movies in the future might imply that something is in the works. At this point, it is unlikely that Isayama is working on something official, but there are several spin-off titles and light novels that could be adapted.
Ryo Suzukaze’s Attack on Titan: Before the Fall prequel as well as Ryo Kawakami’s Attack on Titan: Harsh Mistress of the City are good examples, and if Kinoshita wasn’t just teasing us, some of these works might be getting an adaptation as well.
Of course, we’ll bring you all the updates as soon as they are available!
