‘Punisher: One Last Kill’ Specila Presentation Just Dropped a New Look Along With Release Date
Jon Bernthal is back as Frank Castle in the upcoming Marvel Special Presentation, Punisher: One Last Kill, which will drop on May 12. That date lines up with the Season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again, bringing fans double excitement.
Bernthal first played the Punisher in Netflix’s Daredevil Season 2 in 2016. He started as an adversary to Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock before the two teamed up. Castle, a former soldier driven by revenge after his family was killed, proved so popular that he got his own Punisher series, which ran for two seasons from 2017 to 2019.
Over time, Netflix’s street-level heroes—including Bernthal’s Punisher, Cox’s Daredevil, and Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones—slowly became part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cox reprised his role as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, then appeared in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Echo. In 2025, Daredevil: Born Again launched on Disney+, marking Marvel’s first M-rated series. Bernthal joined the series, reuniting with Cox to fight the corrupt mayor Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D’Onofrio.

Following the success of Born Again, Bernthal was confirmed to headline his own Punisher special within the MCU. But his role doesn’t stop there. He’s also set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day alongside Tom Holland. Other MCU characters like Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Michael Mando’s Scorpion from Spider-Man: Homecoming are returning as well.
This new chapter for the Punisher is shaping up to be a major event for Marvel fans. Bernthal has shown that Castle’s mix of violence and moral code fits seamlessly into the MCU, and seeing him interact with other heroes again will be exciting.
