Quentin Tarantino and his wife, Daniella Pick, are fully settled in Israel and consider the country their permanent home, the couple shared in a recent interview with Channel 12 news in Tel Aviv. The couple has been living in the city with their two children for several years.

Pick, who is an actress, model, and singer, spoke candidly about their life together and how Tarantino handled the recent war in Israel.

She explained that despite the danger, leaving was never a consideration. “Absolutely not. Quentin takes it the easiest way in the world. Most of the time, he wouldn’t even go down to the shelter if I didn’t tell him,” Pick said. She added that the director even joked, “Well, whatever. Like if something happens, I’ll die as a Zionist.”

The couple has no plans to leave Tel Aviv, despite reports that Tarantino might work on a play in London. “I love it [in Israel]. If I didn’t love it, I wouldn’t be there. Playing with my kids, walking around the neighborhood, or riding my bike… going out with friends, having dinner, drinking, smoking cigars,” Tarantino told reporters.

Pick also described her husband as a devoted father and supportive partner. “He’s warm, family-oriented, huggable, funny, and playful. He’s an amazing and supportive husband, and we get along really well,” she said. The two first met in 2009 during the promotion of Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and married in 2018.

The interview also offered a glimpse into their home life. Pick showed the reporter Tarantino’s home theater, complete with custom leather seats she purchased in the U.S. “We have very good movie nights with our friends… Daniella can handle even the more difficult films when there is an audience,” Tarantino said.

Pick spoke about her acting career as well. Tarantino encouraged her to take a role in the new film, The Perfect Gamble, directed by Israeli filmmaker Danny A. Abeckaser. “My most important piece of advice was to know the lines… I helped her learn her lines,” Tarantino said. Pick described her process, “I recorded Quentin on the phone, and then I just went over them at home while doing laundry and dishes.”

She also revealed that the couple is working on a series together that she will star in and that she is returning to her music career with new recordings.

Pick reflected on the death of her father, Israeli pop star Zvika Pick, calling it a difficult topic to discuss. “It’s very hard… the most important thing for me is that his songs will always continue to be played,” she said.

The couple’s home life, she explained, is filled with small, personal details. Tarantino enjoys very spicy food, and Pick humorously described preparing meals to meet his high spice tolerance. She also said that despite Tarantino’s immense success, he once doubted he would be able to build a family.

“There was a time when he really thought maybe it wouldn’t happen for him… I’m happy for him that he was able to fulfill himself in writing as well as a father and partner,” Pick said.

Pick described their life in Israel as balanced and fulfilling. “After being busy for a few years at home with the kids, I can now go out, work, and come back. I have perfect harmony now in terms of how I feel about myself,” she added.
