Raised by Wolves is an American post-apocalyptic science fiction television series created by Aaron Guzikowski, and broadcast since September 3, 2020 on HBO Max, well as on CTV Sci-Fi Channel2 in Canada. The series has received generally positive reviews for its first season, while its second season is currently set to premiere on February 3, 2022, after it had been commissioned even before the first season’s ending. In this article, though, we are going to tell you everything we know about a potential third season of Raised by Wolves.
The third season of Raised by Wolves still hasn’t been confirmed yet and we don’t know whether the series is going to be continued or not. The second season is currently scheduled to premiere on February 3, 2022, and we don’t know when we might be getting news on a potential third season. Raised by Wolves is a solid candidate for a renewal, but we’ll have to wait a bit for the confirmation of this fact, with the season potentially airing next year or in 2024.
The rest of this article is going to bring you all the known and unknown information related to the probable season 3 of Raised by Wolves. You’re going to find out about its potential release date, whether there is a trailer, what the story could be about, and much more about this great anime series.
Raised by Wolves Season 3 release date
Raised by Wolves premiered on HBO Max on September 3, 2020 with its first three episodes; the episodes were written by Aaron Guzikowski and directed by Ridley Scott (1-2) and Luke Scott (3). The first season consisted of 10 episodes, with the last episode airing on October 1, 2020 on HBO Max.
The first season was well-received by critics, with John Anderson of The Wall Street Journal describing the show as follows: The storyline is involved, but keeps a viewer off-balance in a good way. It looks great. And Mother… is the most memorable female/female-like space entity since Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley in Alien.” The consensus on Rotten Tomatoes is as follows: “Bristling with imagination and otherworldly imagery, Raised by Wolves is a bloody exploration of artificial intelligence and religious belief that will stimulate the eye and mind—if not the heart.”
Shortly after the show’s premiere, Raised by Wolves was expressly renewed for a second season by HBO Max. The second season premiered on February 3, 2022 with the first two episodes. Currently, the episode count of season two is still unknown, so we don’t know when it might end. What does all of this mean for a potential third season?
Sadly, nothing, but that might not be as bad, depending on how you look at it. Raised by Wolves is a show with a strong crew behind it, a show that has received mostly positive reviews, and a show that has gathered a devoted fandom, all of which is usually enough for a renewal. Now, we don’t really know what HBO Max intends to do with the show and how many seasons Guzikowski has in store for us, but the show is a likely candidate for a renewal.
Now, whether that is going to happen or not still remains unknown and we’ll just have to wait for some official news regarding the show’s future. If it does get renewed, we doubt that we are going to see the third season before late 2023 or even 2024.
Raised by Wolves Season 3 trailer
You now know all the facts and our thoughts related to Raised by Wolves season 3, which means that you’ve probably deduced by yourselves that there is no trailer for the third season of Raised by Wolves. This is simply because it’s still too early for a third season trailer; the season hasn’t even been confirmed yet (and we don’t really know if it will be, honestly), so we’ll just have to wait for the third season to be confirmed before any expectations of seeing a trailer.
As we have said, Raised by Wolves has solid chances for a renewal, but it’s still too early for the production to start, seeing how the season hasn’t even been confirmed. The first season was well received and the show has a solid fanbase, so the chances for a renewal are really good. But, as of now, we still don’t have any official information on the new season, so we’ll have to wait a bit.
Taking into account everything we’ve said, a trailer for Raised by Wolves season three is unlikely to appear before early 2023, depending on when the potential third season will air.
Rsised by Wolves Season 3 plot
The plot of Raised by Wolves Season 3 is completely unknown. Namely, the show is based on an original concept and we have no source to consult as to what we can expect from the future of the show. We don’t even know what exactly is going to happen in the upcoming second season, save for the fact that some narrative elements from season one will be continued. But, since season 3 is still very far, we cannot even speculate as to its content. But, what is Raised by Wolves even about?
In the 22nd century, a gynoid and an android, Mother and Father, flee an Earth devastated by the war between militant atheists and Mithraic devotees of the Sol cult, to colonize the planet Kepler-22 b, bringing with them 12 human embryos with which start a new civilization. Landed in a rugged, semi-desert area, the two androids build a small settlement and Mother connects to the artificial umbilical cords present in the colonization module to allow six fetuses to grow.
Nine months later the children are born, one of whom initially appears to be stillborn; Mother and Father call him Campion, after their creator. Twelve years later, however, only Campion survived. As the prospects for the colony’s future look bleak, the three discover that they are not the only exiles from Earth in this part of the universe. In fact, a spaceship has reached Kepler-22 b and is in orbit around the planet. The ship (an ark named “Paradise”) is carrying a Mithraic colonization mission.
Concerned about the fate of Campion, the only surviving human being, Father attempts to communicate with the newcomers. Against Father’s initiative, Mother attacks and deactivates him, hiding his body, but Campion still manages to contact the ark and a small Mithraic reconnaissance team discovers their plantation. The Mithraics are convinced that Campion, the first human being born in the new homeland of humanity, is the fulfillment of a prophecy and they decide to take him with them and destroy Mother.
However, their plan fails as Mother reveals deadly fighting skills and kills several team members. One of these, Marcus, tries to escape with the scout ship, but is stopped by Mother and thrown outside. Mother then takes possession of the ship and reaches the ark, crushing all resistance with hypersonic screams and beams of energy that spring from her eyes of her fighting her.
After setting the ark’s course for it to crash into the planet, Mother then returns to the colony aboard the spacecraft. Meanwhile, Marcus survived, while Campion, shocked by his destructive powers, begins to have reservations about Mother.
Raised by Wolves Season 3 cast
Raised by Wolves, like every proper television series, has a fixed main cast which is surely going to expand as the narrative moves forward. Now, some characters will die, some new ones will appear, but for us to speculate about the cast and crew of season three would be far-fetched, since the season is still a long way to go and there is absolutely no way for us to know what is going to happen in the future seasons of the show. So far, the cast of the show looks like this:
- Amanda Collin as Mother/Lamia
- Abubakar Salim as Father
- Winta McGrath as Campion
- Niamh Algar as Sue/Mary
- Travis Fimmel as Marcus/Caleb
- Jordan Loughran as Tempest
- Felix Jamieson as Paul
- Ethan Hazzard as Hunter
- Aasiya Shah as Holly
- Ivy Wong as Vita
- Matias Varela as Lucius
- Peter Christoffersen as Cleaver
- Selina Jones as Grandmother
- Morgan Santo as Vrille
- James Harkness as Tamerlane
- Kim Engelbrecht as Decima
- Jennifer Saayeng as Nerva
Will there be a Raised by Wolves Season 4?
With season three still uncertain, it is definitely too early to discuss a potential fourth season of Raised by Wolves. The show did start strongly with some strong names behind it, and has received positive reviews, but we don’t really have any information on its future. Aaron Guzikowski, the show’s creator, hasn’t revealed any information on the show’s future so we don’t really know how many seasons he has in store for us.
Since Raised by Wolves is a completely original story based on an original concept, we cannot hyphotesize about its future. The show might end with seasons two or three, but it might continue on for several more seasons. It has a solid foundation to work with and there are possibilities that can be further explored, but we’ll just have to see whether people like it and whether HBO is going to invest in it or not.
