Searchlight Pictures has shared the first trailer for Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, giving fans their first look at the next chapter of the hit 2019 horror-comedy.

The sequel once again centers on Samara Weaving’s Grace, who survived the deadly Le Domas family in the first film. Now, a new family, new rules, and new chaos wait for her in what looks like another darkly funny and violent game.

The movie is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the filmmaking team behind the first film, and the story was written by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. Searchlight Pictures confirmed the sequel was in development back in 2024 during a special screening of the original movie.

The cast expands in a big way, with Kathryn Newton playing Grace’s younger sister, Faith. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kevin Durand, Shawn Hatosy, Olivia Cheng, Néstor Carbonell, and Elijah Wood also appear in the film. David Cronenberg plays the head of the Danforth family, who seems to be behind this new twisted game. Production took place in Toronto throughout spring, and filming wrapped in early June.

The new trailer shows Grace trying to rebuild her life until she is pulled into yet another strange, violent ritual with a different family.

The footage promises more traps, more running for survival, and the same mix of horror and comedy that made the first movie a surprise favorite. Searchlight Pictures positions the film as a continuation, not a reset, and the trailer suggests the stakes are even bigger this time.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come will premiere in theaters on April 10, 2026.
