Released ‘Fantastic Four’ Concept Art Reveals Many New Details About the Upcoming Film
The upcoming Marvel movie ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is getting closer to its big debut, and some newly dropped concept art is giving us a peek at what’s in store. This film, set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025, is directed by Matt Shakman, the guy behind ‘WandaVision’. It’s shaping up to be a bold addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I’m excited to see how it all comes together.
This isn’t just random sketches—the art spills some cool details about the story and characters. The movie stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, with Vanessa Kirby playing Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman. Then there’s Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, the Thing. We’re talking Marvel’s First Family here, and they’re facing off against a cosmic threat—Galactus, played by Ralph Ineson, and his Herald, Silver Surfer, brought to life by Julia Garner.

Additionally, Franklin Richards is wearing a Spider-Man costume here hinting to a possible Spider-Man variant in the Fantastic Four's universe. https://t.co/0gtIpomYeM
One big reveal from the art is the setting. It’s got this retro-futuristic 1960s vibe, but it’s not our 1960s—it’s an alternate universe. Think sleek designs mixed with old-school charm, a world where tech and style took a different path. The Fantastic Four are shown in action, like one piece where Sue’s force fields save the team from a raging river. Another scene has them chilling in their kitchen, with the robot HERBIE buzzing around cleaning up. It’s a nice touch that shows their family side, not just the heroics.
Unfortunatelly, some art was removed from X, but we will explain it here in the article.
The juiciest bit? The art confirms Franklin Richards is in the mix. He’s the kid of Reed and Sue, and in the comics, he’s got wild powers that can warp reality. One image shows him in Spider-Man pajamas, which has me wondering if we’ll see a version of Spidey in this universe too. Franklin’s debut could shake things up, maybe even tying into ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ down the line, since the Fantastic Four cast is confirmed for that one too.
We also get a first look at Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer, who’s actually Shalla-Bal in this take—a twist from the usual Norrin Radd version. The design is sleek and otherworldly, fitting the cosmic stakes of Galactus trying to chow down on Earth. It’s clear this movie’s aiming to balance big action with personal moments, and I’m here for it.
Filming wrapped up in Spain late last year, so now it’s all about post-production magic. With a cast this stacked—oh, and folks like John Malkovich and Natasha Lyonne are in there too, though we don’t know who they’re playing yet—it’s hard not to get pumped. This is the start of Phase Six for Marvel, and ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ feels like it’s setting the table for something huge. Can’t wait to see how it lands next summer
