Reportedly, Wong’s Role Set to Surge While Doctor Strange Takes a Backseat in Upcoming MCU Projects, Stirring Fan Discontent

After some not-so-great MCU projects, it’s time to get back on track and gear up for ‘Avengers 5’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ ‘Doctor Strange 3’ was supposed to kickstart this journey but things seem uncertain now, especially after Cumberbatch’s recent comments.
Recent statements from Alex Perez during his Discord Ask Me Anything session bring some disappointing news for Doctor Strange fans. According to him, setting up the story of Doctor Strange and Clea properly will require more than just a couple of appearances in other projects.
What I’ve heard about Stephen Strange’s story leading into Secret Wars requires a minimum of a third Doctor Strange movie for it to be explored properly, or at the very least three Avengers films. Anything less, and I’m afraid that both Stephen and Clea’s characters might fall short of fans’ expectations.
There’s a rumor going around that Wong will be putting together the next Avengers team in the upcoming ‘Captain America: Brave New World.’ Given Wong’s recent appearances in MCU projects, this doesn’t seem too outlandish.
Fans reacted to these rumors with mixed feelings. While Wong is popular, reducing Doctor Strange’s role in the MCU isn’t seen as the best approach.
