Latest Reports Suggest ‘Avengers 5’ Will Be a Grounded Multiverse Adventure

Among all the movies Marvel Studios has lined up, the ‘Avengers’ series stands out as the most thrilling. With two new ‘Avengers’ films in the works, the journey towards the fifth installment has been quite eventful lately.
Majors was let go in December of last year following allegations of assault against his ex-girlfriend, casting some uncertainty over the direction of the movie. The film’s title shifted from ‘Kang Dynasty’ to ‘Avengers 5,’ and it’s unclear if Kang remains the primary antagonist.
New reports from Alex Perez’s Discord AMA suggest that ‘Avengers 5’ will explore a multiverse theme with a down-to-earth plot. It seems like the movie might split into two parts, exploring elements from the ‘Avengers Assemble/Avengers: Forever’ event. This storyline involves a Multiversal Council of Mephisto variants known as the Council of Red, Multiversal Masters of Evil, and an Avengers team-up to save existence. This rumor aligns with Mephisto’s potential introduction into the MCU and could set the stage for ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’
Considering that ‘Avengers 5’ and ‘Secret Wars’ are set to be the monumental events akin to ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’ for the upcoming phases, we can expect a vast array of characters to make appearances.
Currently, the movie lacks a director, but recent reports suggest that Shawn Levy is being pursued by the studio to take the helm, with rumors circulating that he’s already received the script. Close sources to the project indicate that over 60 MCU characters might return, including familiar faces like Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, and Benedict Cumberbatch, along with newcomers such as Tom Hiddleston, Simu Liu, and Karen Gillan. Unlike the previous films, which primarily focused on a core group led by Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Hemsworth, and Ruffalo, this installment will feature a more ensemble cast, giving various characters equal prominence rather than relying on a select few.
