We’re living in a time when the fans are expecting a reunion of the cast that worked on the famous project a while ago. Earlier this year, HBOMax released Friends: The Reunion, a TV special of the famous sitcom that aired back in the ‘90s and early ‘2000s. And now, looks like it’s time for Harry Potter’s reunion.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the movie that kicked off a famous Wizarding World franchise was released in 2001. And now, in 2021, HBOMax is assembling the cast again for a 20th-anniversary reunion special. HBOMax now revealed the first look, and you can check it out below:
The Harry Potter film series started in 2001, and it finished in 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. And although the main series finished its story, the Wizarding World continued to expand. Spin-off movie, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander was released in 2016. The sequel – Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – was released in 2018, and the third installment – Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore – is set to hit theaters next summer. According to J.K. Rowling, author and screenwriter, the Fantastic Beasts series is set to have two more movies after The Secrets of Dumbledore.
And although the fans can enjoy the Fantastic Beats film series, which is set several decades before the events of Harry Potter, many still agree that that isn’t the same. Harry Potter movies introduced us to Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, three main stars who filmed the first movie when they were only 10 years old, and filmed seven sequels in the next ten years. Safe to say they spent more time on a movie set than in school. Today, they’re still known actors. Daniel Radcliffe starred in Miracle Workers TV show, Rupert Grint has a role in Apple TV show Servant, and Emma Watson starred in the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast and 2019 romance drama Little Women.
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts will be available on HBOMax on New Year’s Day.
