Rihanna’s Home Targeted – Suspect in Sunday Shooting Revealed
Authorities have identified the woman accused of firing shots at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home on Sunday. Law enforcement sources confirmed the suspect is 35-year-old Ivana Lisette Ortiz. She was booked on attempted murder charges, and her bail has been set at $10,225,000. Ortiz remains in police custody.
According to the Los Angeles Times, multiple shots were fired at the property around 1:15 p.m. PT while the singer was inside. A law enforcement source told the outlet that Ortiz fired from a white Tesla parked across from the home’s gate. One bullet went through a wall, and additional damage was found on the gate and a parked RV. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Police tracked the vehicle with a helicopter after the shooting and followed it to a Sherman Oaks shopping center, where Ortiz was arrested about 30 minutes after the initial 911 call. LAPD spokesperson Armen Arias told the Times that officers found “an assault rifle and seven casings” inside the Tesla.
Rihanna shares the home with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three children: RZA, Riot, and Rocki, who is just over five months old. It has not been confirmed if anyone else was home at the time of the shooting.
Representatives for Rihanna have not responded to requests for comment from Variety.
