Robert Downey Jr. and Pedro Pascal have been having a lot of fun this Halloween. The ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ co-stars, who play bitter enemies Doctor Doom and Reed Richards in the film, swapped roles for the holiday, with Downey suiting up as Mister Fantastic and Pascal taking on Doom.

Downey shared their costume swap on Instagram, and it quickly went viral. Fans loved seeing the 2 actors, who face off on screen when the Russo brothers’ film opens in December, clearly enjoying each other’s company.

The pair’s Halloween adventures didn’t stop there. New photos shared by Cosmic Marvel, credited to Patrick07612186, show Downey and Pascal posing at night with a group of ‘Star Wars’ fans in costume.

According to the post, Downey called out to the group and invited them to come meet “the real Mandalorian.” It’s a fitting joke, since Pascal plays bounty hunter Din Djarin in the ‘Star Wars’ franchise.

The photos show an adult dressed as a Stormtrooper, a child in Mandalorian armor, and a smaller child in a Grogu costume, complete with a tan robe and big green ears. Downey, in his blue Fantastic Four suit, flashes a peace sign, while Pascal stands beside them in a gray sweatshirt and cap.

The fans’ costumes made the moment even better. A family dressed as the Mandalorian and his small green companion ended up meeting the actor who brought Din Djarin to life, all thanks to Downey’s enthusiasm.

It also echoes one of Pascal’s best-known fan moments. In May, he surprised guests at Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland by appearing in full Mandalorian armor and then lifting his helmet to reveal himself, a stunt that helped promote ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’.

Pascal has also admitted that he finds it a little strange when fans ask him to use his Mandalorian voice for their children. That makes these photos, in which he’s out of costume as Doom instead, even more charming.

Pascal has played Din Djarin since ‘The Mandalorian’ premiered on Disney+ in 2019. He returned to the role in ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’, directed by Jon Favreau, which opened in theaters on May 22 alongside Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White.

That film earned $345.8 million worldwide, falling short of Disney’s expectations. Still, the character’s armor remains one of the most recognizable costumes in pop culture, as this young fan proved. Pascal is now preparing for his MCU debut as Reed Richards in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, opposite Downey’s Doctor Doom.

The 2 actors’ bond has been clear throughout the ‘Doomsday’ campaign. They appeared together at Marvel Studios’ San Diego Comic-Con panel in July, alongside Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell.

Downey praised Pascal’s rise to household-name status in a Vanity Fair profile, and Pascal has called Downey generous and welcoming. Pascal has even joked that Downey hosted “homework” sessions at his house before filming, feeding the cast like an Italian mother.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ opens in theaters on December 18, bringing together the Avengers, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Until then, moments like this keep giving fans a fun look at the friendship between Marvel’s newest rivals. For the families who ran into them on Halloween, it was a night they’ll be talking about for a long time.
