Robert Pattinson (39) Unveils Dramatic New Look That Has Everyone Talking
Robert Pattinson has long been recognized for his signature dark, tousled aesthetic, but his latest cinematic ventures are proving he is a master of physical reinvention. The actor recently stunned fans with a drastic makeover for his role in the highly anticipated Dune: Part Three.
On March 17, a trailer for the franchise’s third chapter revealed Pattinson in the role of Scytale, a calculating antagonist. Gone are his familiar dark features, replaced by a striking bleach-blonde appearance that renders him almost unrecognizable.
The transformation includes white-bleached eyebrows that seem to disappear into his pale skin tone. His new look is completed by an icy blonde crewcut and distinctive purple-hued lips, marking a massive departure from his previous roles in Twilight or The Batman.
In this upcoming installment, Pattinson’s character will lead the Dune Messiah faction. This group serves as the primary opposition to the protagonist, Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet.
This reveal follows closely on the heels of another experimental look Pattinson adopted for the film The Drama. In a photo shoot for Interview Magazine, he appears alongside Zendaya wearing a long, curly blonde wig.
The imagery for that project features the actor with smeared red lipstick while Zendaya poses on his back. Pattinson’s willingness to embrace these eccentric styles highlights his dedication to fully immersing himself in varied characters.
Despite these on-screen shifts, the actor returned to his classic, polished style for the Vanity Fair Oscars party. He attended the event in a traditional black tuxedo, accompanied by his fiancée, Suki Waterhouse.
Waterhouse, who shares a two-year-old daughter with the actor, opted for a bold sculptural feather top for the occasion. The couple’s appearance together helped ground the recent buzz surrounding Pattinson’s frequent character-based alter egos.
Marriage rumors also intensified during a recent press event for The Drama on March 17. When Zendaya playfully questioned him about his biggest secret, Pattinson offered a cryptic and witty reply.
“It’s the same one that you have,” he remarked to his costar. Many interpreted this as a nod to the long-standing speculation that Zendaya and Tom Holland have also privately wed.
Beyond his work on Dune and The Drama, Pattinson has maintained a high-profile presence in the film industry. He recently finished production on Die My Love, a thriller directed by Lynne Ramsay where he stars alongside Jennifer Lawrence.
The actor is also slated to return to his role as Bruce Wayne in the upcoming sequel to The Batman. Director Matt Reeves is expected to begin filming the next chapter of the Gotham saga later this year.
Zendaya, his costar in The Drama, remains one of the busiest figures in Hollywood. In addition to the A24 project, she is expected to reprise her lead role in the third season of the hit series Euphoria.
The Dune franchise, directed by Denis Villeneuve, has become a global phenomenon since its first release. The third film, based on the novel Dune Messiah, aims to conclude the epic journey of the Atreides bloodline.
Pattinson’s inclusion in the cast adds another layer of prestige to an already star-studded ensemble. His transition from a heartthrob to a versatile character actor continues to impress critics and audiences alike.
