Robert Pattinson now officially made his debut as the newest Bruce Wayne aka Batman aka The Dark Knight aka Caped Crusader aka World’s Greatest Detective. The Batman officially began its theatrical run today and the reactions from fans across the world are surfacing all over the internet.

Most of the critics and audience that have seen the movie so far praised its narrative, dark tone, story, and performances. When Pattinson was announced to play Batman back in 2019, most of the fanbase criticized the casting, saying that Pattinson isn’t the right choice for the role. But seeing at the reviews and reactions now, we’d say that everyone deserves a fair shot.

Recently, Pattinson opened up about his physical preparation for the role. When you know you’re about to play Batman, you are definitely aware that you should look jacked. Pattinson revealed that he was preparing for the role for only three months before the production started (for comparison, Christian Bale was preparing for Batman Begins for six months, and that was after his role in The Machinist, for which he reduced his body weight to 120 pounds (54 kg)).

“I had about three months before the movie started, and then you’re working out before and after work all the time. You just cut down and cut down and cut down before the couple of scenes with your shirt off, and you’re counting sips of water.” — Robert Pattinson for People

Pattinson also revealed he was counting sips of water during his extreme diet. The sips of water technique is usually used in wrestling to cut down on weight. It is also by bodybuilders before a big show.

Co-written and directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman is starring Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. The movie now plays in theaters.
