Ron Howard’s Survival Thriller ‘Eden,’ Starring Jude Law & Vanessa Kirby, Reveals Gripping New Trailer
A new trailer has been released for Eden, the latest survival thriller from director Ron Howard. Starring Jude Law, Vanessa Kirby, Ana de Armas, and Sydney Sweeney, the film is inspired by a true story of European settlers struggling to survive on a remote island in the Galápagos.
Set in 1929, Eden follows Dr. Friedrich Ritter (Jude Law) and his wife Dora Strauch (Vanessa Kirby) as they leave Germany in search of a secluded paradise on Floreana Island. Their dream of isolation is soon disrupted when other settlers arrive, including Margret and Heinz Wittmer (Sydney Sweeney and Daniel Brühl) and the mysterious Baroness Eloise Bosquet de Wagner Wehrhorn (Ana de Armas), who comes with grand plans for a luxury hotel.

Originally titled Origin of Species, the film was announced in 2022, with Howard assembling an all-star cast. Filming took place in Australia’s Gold Coast and the Galápagos Islands, bringing the film’s breathtaking setting to life.
Acclaimed composer Hans Zimmer has created the film’s score, adding to the suspenseful atmosphere.
After premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7, 2024, Eden secured international distribution through Amazon Prime Video.
