Rumors: ‘World War Hulk’ Movie To Be Developed as a Different Major MCU Project

Every year brings rumors of a ‘World War Hulk’ movie in the works. These rumors have persisted for years without any concrete developments.

Over a year ago, there was a report that Marvel Studios was working on a new Hulk solo movie starring Mark Ruffalo, potentially titled ‘World War Hulk,’ loosely based on the comic book storyline. However, since Marvel Studios didn’t make any official statements, the report wasn’t taken seriously. Nevertheless, fans remained hopeful, especially after a subtle tease in the ‘She-Hulk’ series finale in 2022.

Recently, Ruffalo confirmed what many had feared: the chances of a standalone Hulk movie are slim to none.

Then, in 2008, Marvel and Universal collaborated on ‘The Incredible Hulk,’ with Universal retaining distribution rights for 15 years. This arrangement prevented another Hulk movie during that period. Universal could distribute any Marvel movie featuring Hulk as the main character, prompting Marvel to keep Hulk as a secondary character in MCU films to avoid giving distribution rights to Universal instead of Disney. The current status of these rights remains unclear, but we can expect Banner’s story to continue in future MCU projects.

According to recent rumors shared by KC Walsh, ‘World War Hulk’ is allegedly being developed as an Avengers movie, a prospect confirmed by Ruffalo. Even though a standalone Hulk story may not be possible, Hulk can still have significant roles in other projects.

There are rumors circulating that Hulk may make appearances in both ‘Avengers 5’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’ Ruffalo initially confirmed his involvement in ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ but later retracted his statement, suggesting some uncertainty.
