UK police have announced that comedian and actor Russell Brand has been charged with two more s** offences. The Crown Prosecution Service authorised a new count of r*** and a count of s*** assault involving two women, adding to the previous charges Brand faces.

Brand, 50, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on January 20, 2026, in connection with the new allegations.

A trial for the earlier five charges, which include two counts of r****, one of indecent assault, and two of s**** assault involving four other women, is set to begin at Southwark Crown Court on June 16. Reuters reported that attempts to reach Brand for comment were unsuccessful.

Brand pleaded not guilty to the original five charges in May. Once a prominent broadcaster in the UK and formerly married to pop singer Katy Perry, Brand has denied engaging in non-consensual s**. Following the first set of charges, he admitted to being a s** addict in his younger years but insisted, “what I never was, was a r****.”

The investigation began in September 2023 after Channel 4’s Dispatches program and The Sunday Times investigated allegations of s**** misconduct. These reports included claims of assaults and emotional abuse between 2006 and 2013, and some of the women involved were as young as 16 at the time.

Brand’s earlier career included multiple arrests related to drug use and public incidents. He has said that transcendental meditation played a key role in his recovery from substance dependence.

Over the years, there have also been reports of Brand’s inappropriate behavior on set and in public, including allegations of s**** harassment from colleagues and guests. In some cases, former partners and fellow performers described him as a s**** predator. Despite these accusations, Brand has repeatedly denied any criminal wrongdoing, stating that his relationships were “absolutely always consensual” and linked to a period when he was “very, very promiscuous.”

Following the charges in April, Brand was suspended from several public roles, including charity ambassadorships and partnerships with wellness platforms. He was granted bail after appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in May, where he confirmed his personal details but made no other public statements.

The Crown Prosecution Service authorised the two new charges in December 2025. These latest allegations involve s**** offences against two additional women and will see Brand back in court in January 2026.

This case has drawn major media attention in the UK, with many following Brand’s career and personal history closely. The ongoing investigations and upcoming trials will continue to be closely watched.
