Ryan Gosling In Negotiations To Play Ken In Margot Robbie’s Barbie Movie

The live-action movie about the most famous doll in the world – Barbie – has been in development for quite some time with Margot Robbie attached to play the titular role. And what’s Barbie without her Ken? According to Deadline, Ryan Gosling is in final negotiations to play Ken in the movie.

Producers reportedly wanted Gosling for the role of Ken before, but he wasn’t able to do it due to scheduling conflicts. But, considering the production of the movie was dragged out for a while now, Gosling’s schedule has been cleared, and now he could be all set to play the role.

3-time Oscar Nominated director Greta Gerwig is set to direct the movie with the script she co-wrote with Noah Baumbach. Plot details are unknown at the time and the official release date still isn’t set yet.

Barbie is a fashion doll manufactured by Mattel, Inc. The toy first appeared in 1959 and it became a cultural icon. Only in 2020, Mattel sold over $1.35 billion worth of Barbie dolls and other accessories. In 2001, the Barbie film series started with Barbie in the Nutcracker animated movie, and till this day there were 39 animated movies released.
