In the clip, Reynolds can be heard joking about the size of the cast already assembled for the film, asking why the team even needs him and Jackman when Marvel already has, in his words, twenty some people. Jackman responded with a tease of his own, saying he would love to join and might be able to convince Reynolds to appear as well, a line that had the Hall crowd laughing along with the pair’s trademark chemistry.
Not every outlet is treating the moment as a done deal. Some coverage of the same D23 clip, including from The Direct, noted that the segment ended without further confirmation of whether the two will actually appear in the finished film.
