Ryan Reynolds Steps In To Support Blake Lively Amid Baldoni Text Messages

Ryan Reynolds is standing firmly by his wife, Blake Lively, as their private lives continue to be dragged into a massive legal battle with her former co-star, Justin Baldoni. Recently, some of Ryan’s personal text messages were unsealed in court, showing him using some pretty harsh words toward Baldoni. Instead of backing down, a spokesperson for Ryan told Puck News on January 27 that the actor was just being a supportive husband.

The representative made it clear that Ryan was only trying to protect his family during a very stressful time. Yes, Ryan got involved — what husband wouldn’t support his wife and the mother of his children? The spokesperson said.

They explained that Ryan watched Blake struggle with what she called s**** harassment on the set of her movie, only to feel like she was being punished for speaking up. According to the rep, Ryan actually feels like he should have been even more vocal about the situation. If anything, Ryan feels like he wasn’t angry enough, they added.

The unsealed messages also included some interesting names, like Johnny Depp and even Taylor Swift. In one text, Ryan reportedly compared the drama to Johnny Depp’s past legal issues, and other messages showed Blake venting to her close friend Taylor about the situation. A source close to the actor mentioned that Ryan was rarely even on the movie set and mostly sent those frustrated emails and texts while he was busy working on his own big hit, Deadpool & Wolverine.

While this legal drama is expected to go to trial in May 2026, Ryan is keeping his career moving at full speed. He is currently working on several big projects, including a new R-rated animated film called Animal Friends. This movie has a huge cast that includes stars like Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza, and Dan Levy, and it is scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026. He is also busy developing Deadpool 4 after the massive success of his last Marvel movie.
