Sabrina Carpenter, who hosted and performed as the musical guest on this week’s “Saturday Night Live,” used her monologue to poke fun at her provocative image.

She joked about wanting to be known for more than just being s**ually bold, while playfully acknowledging her “one-track mind.”

“Now since I’m here, I want to clear up some misconceptions people have about me,” Carpenter said. “Everyone thinks of me as this, like, ho*nd*g pop star, but there’s really so much more to me. I’m not just h***y. I’m also t*r**d on and I’m s**ually charged. And I love to read. My favorite book is the encyclopedia. It’s so big and it’s hard…”

During the monologue, she addressed the controversy over the cover of her latest album, “Man’s Best Friend.” “Some people got a little freaked out by the cover. I’m not sure why. It was just this me on all fours with an unseen figure pulling my hair.”

“But what people don’t realize is, that’s just how they cropped it. If you zoom out, it’s clearly a picture from the 50th anniversary special of Bowen (Yang) helping me up by the hair…after Martin Short shoved me out of the buffet line.”

Carpenter also interacted with the audience, sharing a playful moment with a fan named Will from Maryland. “Ooh, what a s***, unusual place. See, I love talking to normal people. They’re so fascinating when they’re real like you,” she said, joking about being “t*r**d on” by the encounter.

She continued the humor with Kenan Thompson, who came out with pink handcuffs. Thompson teased that he was arresting her not for being hot, but “for falsely impersonating an officer 200 times at your concerts.” Carpenter responded with a mock offer for a Cameo, joking that it would cost $200,000 and adding, “if anyone else wants one, find me on Venmo.”

The episode included an opening sketch in which Carpenter was part of a bachelorette-style birthday party, performing comedic songs parodying Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga. Her musical performances included her No. 1 hit “Manchild,” staged like a bedroom scene with playful choreography, and “Nobody’s Son,” performed in a martial arts setting.

Some controversy arose as Carpenter sang the words “f**** up” uncensored on the East Coast feed, while the West Coast feed muted the lines, likely due to the tape delay.

Carpenter’s monologue and performances highlighted her mix of humor, music, and cheeky persona, showing she can playfully address controversy while keeping the audience engaged.
