Sam Fisher is officially back in action. Netflix has released the first teaser for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch during Anime NYC, giving fans their first look at the animated take on Ubisoft’s long-running stealth series. The show is being made by Ubisoft Film & Television and will premiere on October 14, 2025.
The series is led by Derek Kolstad, best known for creating John Wick, who serves as the head writer and one of the executive producers. Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daage are directing, and the animation is being handled by Sun Creature Studio and French studio Fost.

Liev Schreiber will voice Sam Fisher, the field commander of Fourth Echelon, a covert U.S. government unit specializing in counter-terrorism and stealth operations. Janet Varney will play Anna “Grim” Grímsdóttir, Fisher’s longtime ally and the group’s tech operations officer. The cast also includes Kirby as Zinnia McKenna and Joel Oulette as Thunder.
Back in July 2020, Netflix and Ubisoft first announced that they were developing an animated series based on Splinter Cell. At the time, it was reported that the project had already received a two-season order, though writer Derek Kolstad later clarified that only one season had officially been green-lit.
He also warned fans it would take a few years before the series arrived, which has turned out to be true.
Michael Ironside, who famously voiced Fisher in the video games, explained in August 2024 why he wouldn’t be returning. He said, “I’m too old to portray the character for television,” and confirmed that Liev Schreiber had taken over the role. Netflix later revealed the casting with a first look at the show in September 2024.
Now, with the teaser finally out, fans have their first taste of what the new version of Sam Fisher will look and sound like in action. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch launches worldwide on Netflix on October 14, 2025.
