A new clip from the upcoming horror film Silent Night, Deadly Night shows Santa Claus taking on Nazis in a bloody showdown. The slasher, written and directed by Mike P. The film stars Rohan Campbell as Billy Chapman, joined by Ruby Modine, David Lawrence Brown, David Tomlinson, and Mark Acheson. It premiered earlier this year at Fantastic Fest on September 21. According to sources, the story sticks closer to the original than previous remake attempts.
Development on the project has had a long history. Back in 2020, filmmaker Joe Begos pitched a version featuring a rogue robotic Santa, but it was rejected for straying too far from the classic story. Later, Orwo Studios and Black Hanger Studios picked up the project, but the remake didn’t move forward until 2024. That’s when Mike P. Nelson, known for Wrong Turn, was officially brought on as writer and director.
The movie has already seen positive early reactions. On Rotten Tomatoes, 88% of 17 critics’ reviews are positive, showing that audiences may be in for a violent but entertaining holiday treat.
Silent Night, Deadly Night promises a mix of horror and dark humor, with Santa stepping far away from the usual holiday cheer. The film’s theatrical release on December 12 will finally give fans a chance to see how the classic story has been updated for a modern audience.
