Sarah Michelle Gellar, Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton Bring Bold Glam and Wicked Energy to ‘Ready or Not 2’ Press Tour
The buzz around Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is building fast, and much of that excitement is coming from its leading cast. Samara Weaving, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Kathryn Newton recently stepped out together for promotional events tied to the sequel. Their joint appearance quickly got fans talking, as the trio hinted at a bigger and more dangerous story ahead.
Weaving returns as Grace, the survivor of the brutal events in the first film. This time, her journey continues in a story that expands beyond the original setting. Speaking through social media during the press run, Weaving joked about balancing the tour with her personal life.

According to details shared by the production team, the sequel picks up right after the ending of the 2019 movie. Grace’s nightmare is far from over. The story introduces her estranged sister Faith, played by Newton, and places both women in the middle of a new deadly game. This time, the threat comes from a powerful network of elite families rather than just one household.
Gellar joins the cast as Ursula Danforth, a key figure tied to one of these rival groups. Her involvement has drawn interest from longtime horror fans, many of whom remember her earlier work in the genre. The role marks another major step in her return to darker storytelling.
The film’s world is also expanding with new characters played by Elijah Wood and David Cronenberg. Their presence signals a shift from the contained chaos of the original film to something much larger in scale.
Off-screen, all three actresses remain busy with other projects. Weaving recently appeared in Azrael and Borderline, and she is preparing for Over Your Dead Body later this year. Newton continues to gain attention after her role in Abigail and has upcoming work lined up. Gellar is also preparing for Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale, a new chapter connected to her most famous character.
The sequel is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The filmmakers have said the new installment keeps the dark tone of the first movie but increases the action and effects.
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come is set to debut at SXSW before its theatrical release on March 20. Early expectations suggest it could perform strongly at the box office.
Bringing these three actresses together was a smart move. Their energy during the press tour already hints at strong chemistry on screen. If the film delivers on its promise of a bigger story, it could easily match or surpass the original. What do you think about this casting and the direction of the sequel?
