‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ became a cultural icon for its strong, relatable female lead who fought monsters while dealing with real-life issues like high school, friendships, and love. The show broke new ground by blending horror, comedy, and drama, making it both entertaining and meaningful.

It also tackled important social themes like empowerment, identity, and the struggle between good and evil, inspiring a loyal fanbase and influencing future TV shows. Considering that Hollywood is currently in a reboot era fans have been begging for ‘Buffy’ reboot for quite a while but Gellar remained adamant that it’s not going to happen.

Now that the actress is starring in ‘Dexter’ revival, ‘Dexter: Original Sin,’ it seems she has changed her mind.

Gellar appeared on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ on Friday. During the interview, Drew Barrymore asked her if she would be interested in bringing back her popular series.

It’s funny. I always used to say no, because it’s in its bubble, and it’s so perfect. But watching Sex and the City [sequel series, And Just Like That] and seeing Dexter, and realizing there are ways to do it, definitely does get your mind thinking, ‘Well, maybe.

And it doesn’t have to be a prequel. It could be anything. It’s a universe. And it makes you realize that in this world, we need those heroes, I think, more so than ever.

Besides the Dexter prequel series, Sarah Michelle Gellar also recently starred in the ‘Teen Wolf’ revival ‘Wolf Pack’ and ‘Do Revenge.’ Which is most likely what changed her mind.
