‘Scarpetta’ Star Nicole Kidman (59) Celebrates a Glamorous Homecoming With Her Record Vogue Australia Cover
Few stars share as long a history with a single fashion house as Nicole Kidman does with Chanel. The Oscar winner’s relationship with the French label dates back more than 2 decades, and Chanel welcomed her back as a global ambassador last year under creative director Matthieu Blazy. That bond has now brought her back home in spectacular fashion.
The timing is meaningful for Australian fashion too. Chanel has brought its Resort 2027 collection to Australia for the first time, and the moment called for a cover star who could bridge both worlds. Kidman, an Australian-American actress with a famously busy schedule, was the natural choice.
Now the results are here. Kidman covers the November issue of Vogue Australia, fittingly titled “Homecoming,” photographed by Lachlan Bailey and styled by editor-in-chief Christine Centenera. The issue marks her historic 12th cover for the magazine.
The shoot spans several striking looks. One monochrome cover captures Kidman in the water wearing Chanel swimwear finished with a silver-toned bracelet, while another, labeled “Up Close With Nicole,” sees her in a striped top paired with a layered Chanel skirt with dramatic fringed detailing. That skirt is Look 14 from Chanel’s Cruise 2026/27 collection.

Further images from the editorial lean into the label’s signature monochrome palette. In studio shots against a bright white backdrop, Kidman wears a strapless black Chanel minidress with a scalloped neckline and a knit cap featuring a white double-C logo. Another look pairs a sequined Chanel jacket from the Resort 2027 line with a Madre Natura bralette.
The photos accompany an in-depth interview in which Kidman reflects on her career and her connection to the brand. Speaking with Vogue Australia, she explained that every photoshoot requires real emotional commitment from her.

She described the experience of shooting her latest cover as one of fully embracing the warmth, the beach setting, and the emotion behind every frame. In the same conversation, she also reflected on feeling increasingly at ease with herself.
Kidman shared the images on Instagram, captioning her post “Homecoming” alongside an Australian flag and a blue heart. The shoot quickly drew enthusiastic responses, including from fellow stars Elle Fanning and Joey King.
The issue officially hits newsstands on Monday, November 2. For longtime fans, it’s another reminder of the special place Australia holds in Kidman’s career. The cover arrives during one of the busiest stretches of Kidman’s career. She returned to the big screen alongside Sandra Bullock in ‘Practical Magic 2’, which hit theaters in September, and she stars in Prime Video’s ‘Scarpetta’, based on Patricia Cornwell’s novels.

Her television slate remains stacked. Kidman also appears in Apple TV+’s ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ with Elle Fanning and Michelle Pfeiffer, while ‘Big Little Lies’ was confirmed in September 2025 to be returning for a third season. Other projects, including ‘Lioness’ Season 3 and Paramount+’s ‘Discretion’, are also on the horizon.
With a record-setting cover, a renewed Chanel partnership, and a crowded release calendar, Kidman’s homecoming feels like a celebration of a career that shows no signs of slowing down.
