Scream: Character Posters And A New Featurette Revealed

Scream is one of the most popular horror franchises of all time. The franchise kicked off in 1996 with the original movie directed by Wes Craven and starring Neve Campbell, David Arquette, and Courteney Cox.

Since then, the franchise expanded with three more movies, and an anthology TV series. The latest movie, Scream 4, was released in 2010, also directed by Craven and starring the previously mentioned trio. Now, 25 years later, a fifth installment in the series, called simply Scream instead of Scream 5 (some fans even call it Scream 2022 so that it’s not mixed with the original), is on the way. Campbell, Arquette, and Cox return with a lot of newcomers in one more mysterious adventure of hunting a serial killer with the Ghostface mask. Who’s behind the mask this time?

As the movie is closing in, Paramount Pictures released character posters of the movie, teasing that anyone from the twelve main characters (including three returning characters) might be the killer this time. As the tagline is saying: “It’s always someone you know.”

Additionally, Collider revealed an exclusive featurette:

Written by James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett, and starring Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, and Marley Shelton, SCREAM is set to hit theaters on January 14, 2022.

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
