Scuba-Clad Burglar Hits Disney Springs Restaurant in Midnight Heist
Florida deputies are on the hunt for a man seen on security cameras robbing a popular Disney Springs restaurant while wearing what looked like scuba gear.
The incident took place just after midnight on Monday at Paddlefish, a waterfront eatery inside Walt Disney World’s shopping and entertainment district, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.
Authorities say the thief, dressed in black gear with goggles and blue gloves, confronted two employees who were depositing cash into the restaurant’s safe. The suspect allegedly told them to “get down” and “close your eyes.”

The report notes that the man was not carrying a weapon and did not suggest he had one. Estimates put the stolen cash between $10,000 and $20,000.
Some local accounts suggest the suspect made his escape by jumping into the water surrounding the restaurant’s steamboat-style structure. Thankfully, no one was physically hurt, though one employee told deputies she “was in fear of her life.”
Paddlefish, which offers 360-degree waterfront views, is owned by Levy Restaurants, while Disney Springs falls under the Walt Disney World Resort. A spokesperson for Levy Restaurants declined to comment on the robbery, and Walt Disney World referred questions about the investigation to OCSO.
This unusual heist has sparked curiosity online, not just because of the location but also the scuba gear disguise. It’s a reminder that even well-trafficked entertainment areas aren’t immune to crime.
