Sebastian Stan’s Bald Look Has Fans Wondering if He’s Hiding a Major ‘Batman’ Villain Role

Sebastian Stan may have just given Batman fans another reason to question everything they thought they knew about his role in The Batman: Part II. The actor has once again been seen with a completely shaved head, and that simple change has brought back one of the biggest casting debates surrounding Matt Reeves’ upcoming sequel. Is Stan really playing Harvey Dent, or could he actually be taking on the much darker role of Victor Zsasz?

Stan’s involvement with the movie has been surrounded by rumors almost from the beginning. The actor was initially linked to Harvey Dent, the Gotham district attorney who eventually becomes Two-Face. That report made sense to many fans, especially after Stan spoke about the project while promoting his movie Fjord at Cannes. However, the situation became less clear when a quote that appeared to confirm his role was later corrected after it was found to have been wrongly attributed during translation.

Now, Stan’s latest appearance is giving the Zsasz theory fresh life. New photos show the actor with his head completely shaved, similar to the look he had earlier this summer. Fans quickly noticed that the hairstyle is a much closer match for Victor Zsasz than Harvey Dent. In the comics, Zsasz is usually shown with a bald head and a disturbing habit of carving marks into his own body to represent his victims.

The theory became even stronger after industry insider Jeff Sneider reported in June that Stan was not playing Dent after all. According to Sneider, Eternals star Brian Tyree Henry had landed the role of Harvey Dent, while Stan was reportedly being lined up to play Zsasz. There has been no official confirmation from Warner Bros. or Reeves, but the rumor has continued to spread as Stan’s appearance seems to fit the character more and more.

There is also an interesting reason why the idea of Stan playing Zsasz feels possible within Reeves’ version of Gotham. The first Batman movie took familiar comic book characters and gave them a more realistic and grounded style. Paul Dano’s Riddler was a good example of that approach. Instead of looking like a traditional comic book villain, he was presented as a disturbing criminal inspired by real-world figures. Zsasz could easily receive a similar treatment in the sequel.

Stan has not directly revealed his character, but he has talked about how seriously he approaches his roles. The actor explained that understanding a character means getting to the heart of what makes them who they are. He also spoke about looking at a character’s family, background, time period, and experiences to understand their view of the world. That approach could work for either Dent or Zsasz, so his comments have not solved the mystery.

Victor Zsasz has already appeared in live-action Batman projects, although he has never been one of the franchise’s main villains. Tim Booth played him in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, while Anthony Carrigan portrayed him in the television series Gotham. A Reeves version could be very different, especially if the character is turned into a serious and unsettling criminal rather than a more exaggerated comic book villain.

The secrecy surrounding The Batman: Part II has only made the speculation bigger. Reeves has kept major story details hidden, and Warner Bros. has not confirmed the character Stan is playing. That leaves fans studying every new photo, interview, hairstyle, and rumor for possible clues.

For now, there is no official answer. Stan could still be Harvey Dent, while the bald look could have nothing to do with Zsasz. But if the latest reports are accurate, fans may have been looking at the wrong character all along. Until Reeves or the studio finally reveals the truth, Stan’s mysterious role remains one of the biggest unanswered questions surrounding the next Batman movie.
