Set Images Showcase a Stunning First Look at Julia Garner on the Set of ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’

Marvel fans just got their first glimpse of Julia Garner as the female Silver Surfer, also known as Shalla-Bal, on the set of The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

The actress was spotted filming in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and the stunning visuals have already stirred reactions online.

In the scene being filmed, Garner was seen standing on jagged rocks with waves crashing around her, hinting at a dramatic moment in the upcoming movie. She wore a flowing white and blue-patterned dress with cape-like details at the back, which extended past her ankles.

Her blonde hair was slicked back, giving her a powerful and ethereal look. At one point, she raised her arms while gazing out at the ocean, creating a visually striking scene.

Even though filming for the movie officially ended, it’s currently having additional photography in Los Angeles.

This is the first time we see Julia Garner in her human form. In the most recently released Fantastic Four trailer, the actress appeared in her sleek, metallic Silver Surfer form.

When Garner was first announced as the Silver Surfer, the news sparked quite a reaction within the fan community. Many were surprised, as Shalla-Bal, the female version of the character, is far less known compared to Norrin Radd, the Silver Surfer most commonly associated with the title of Galactus’ Herald in Marvel Comics.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to be released in the United States on July 25, 2025, marking the first film of Phase Six in the MCU.

The film takes place on a retro-futuristic parallel Earth inspired by the 1960s. In this world, the Fantastic Four must protect their planet from Galactus, the cosmic being that devours worlds, and his powerful herald, the Silver Surfer.
