‘Severance’, ‘The Bear’, and ‘The White Lotus’ Lead 2025 Emmy Nominations
The nominations for the 2025 Emmy Awards are finally here, and fans of shows like Severance, The Bear, and The White Lotus have a lot to celebrate. According to DiscussingFilm, these hit series are leading the pack in many categories as the 77th Emmys get closer.
This year’s awards will take place on September 14, 2025, live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, airing on CBS and Paramount+.
This year’s Emmy race is especially tight, thanks to a huge lineup of popular shows from the 2024-2025 TV season. Shows like Andor, The Pitt, and Squid Game are all in the running in drama categories. But new shows like The Studio and Nobody Wants This could shake up the comedy competition, where The Bear and Hacks have ruled for years.
In the drama series category, fans will see big names fighting for the top spot. Severance, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, and Andor all earned nominations for best drama series. Actors like Adam Scott, Pedro Pascal, Gary Oldman, and Sterling K. Brown are also nominated in the lead actor race, while Britt Lower and Bella Ramsey are in the lead actress group.
The White Lotus picked up a large number of acting nominations, with stars like Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, Sam Rockwell, and Parker Posey all recognized. Severance also saw several of its stars nominated, including Patricia Arquette and John Turturro. Fans of The Pitt will be happy too, as the HBO series earned nods in both writing and acting categories.
In comedy, The Bear continues its hot streak, nominated again for best comedy series along with shows like Abbott Elementary, Hacks, and Only Murders in the Building. New comedies such as The Studio and Nobody Wants This also got into the race. Jeremy Allen White, Seth Rogen, and Martin Short are some of the stars nominated for lead actor in comedy. On the actress side, Jean Smart, Kristen Bell, and Ayo Edebiri will compete for the top prize.
Guest actor and actress categories are stacked with big names. Stars like Bryan Cranston, Jon Bernthal, and Anthony Mackie all picked up guest acting nods. Ron Howard and Martin Scorsese are even nominated for guest appearances on The Studio, which might surprise some fans.
Limited series categories also saw major players. The Penguin, Adolescence, and Black Mirror scored nominations, with Colin Farrell and Cate Blanchett among those up for acting awards. Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story and FX’s Dying for Sex are also among the nominees.
The Emmys will also honor TV movies this year, with titles like Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy and Rebel Ridge competing in that category.
The 2025 Emmys are shaping up to be one of the most exciting shows in years. With so many fan-favorite series and stars nominated, it looks like a night full of surprises could be ahead when the awards air live this September.
