Sharon Stone (68) Praises Robert de Niro (82) as the Best Kisser in the Industry
Sharon Stone took a trip down memory lane, crowning a legendary co-star as the finest kisser in the film industry. During a Wednesday appearance on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, the 68-year-old actress was quick to name Robert De Niro as the man who set the standard for on-screen romance.
Stone’s high praise seemed to catch host Andy Cohen off guard, leading to a candid exchange about her time filming the 1995 Martin Scorsese classic Casino. The Basic Instinct star described the experience in vivid detail, suggesting that De Niro’s talent in that department was unparalleled.
She noted that his technique was so effective it left her completely stunned, remarking, “Oh, my God. He’s the best kisser in the business. Ooo, kissed me right out of my shoes.” Stone attributed much of the chemistry to the deep professional respect she had for De Niro long before they shared a set.
Recalling a specific moment from the production, Stone described a scene where her character, a savvy hustler named Ginger, manipulates De Niro’s Sam Rothstein for cash before heading to the restroom.
After convincing him to increase his “tip” from $50 to $100, she rewarded him with a spontaneous embrace. She explained that the resulting kiss was so powerful that even the director was impressed, though both actors were eager to repeat the process.
Stone joked that while Scorsese was satisfied with the initial shot, he offered them the chance to go again just in case. She admitted that neither she nor De Niro hesitated to accept the offer for a second take, saying, “We both looked at him and went, ‘Yeah, I think maybe we need one more.’“ For Stone, the moment represented the peak of her career, largely because she held De Niro in such high regard as a performer.
Beyond her nostalgic radio appearance, Stone is currently preparing for a significant return to the small screen. She has joined the cast of the third season of HBO’s Euphoria, which is scheduled to premiere on April 12. This marks her first major television role in several years, and fans are eager to see how her seasoned screen presence interacts with the show’s younger ensemble.
Outside of acting, Stone continues to be an active voice in the art world, frequently showcasing her original paintings at galleries across Los Angeles and Europe. Robert De Niro, now 82, has been equally busy, though much of his recent public attention has focused on his political activism. Earlier this week, the Oscar winner was spotted in Washington, D.C., attending Supreme Court oral arguments as a guest of the justices.
