Shonen Jump Drops Surprise Anime Announcement With Exciting First Trailer
Marriagetoxin, the popular manga by Joumyaku and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda, is getting its own anime series.
The story has been running on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ app and website since April 2022 and currently has 14 volumes collected as of August. Viz Media has licensed the series for English readers.
Bones Film, the studio behind hits like My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, will produce the anime, which is set to premiere in 2026.
Fans got their first real look at the series in motion with a new trailer and poster released alongside the announcement.
The show will be directed by Motonobu Hori, with Kimiko Ueno handling the scripts and Kohei Tokuoka serving as chief animation director. The music will be composed by Taisei Iwasaki and Yuma Yamaguchi. The main characters will be voiced by Haruki Ishiya as Hikaru Gero and Shion Wakayama as Mei Kinosaki.

The story of Marriagetoxin centers on the deadly Poison Masters of the Five Great Families. Hikaru Gero, heir to the Gero Family, has lived his life away from love and marriage. However, when his sister is forced to bear an heir to continue their bloodline, Hikaru is determined to protect her no matter the cost.
According to a press release, “For centuries, the deadly arts have been perfected by those known as the Masters. Among them, the Poison Masters of the Five Great Families hold the most fearsome power and influence.”

The anime promises to bring the dark, high-stakes world of the manga to life with a mix of drama, action, and suspense. The official release date for the series has not yet been confirmed, but fans can expect it sometime in 2026.
