The Season 2 finale of Silo on Apple TV+ left viewers stunned with a massive twist. The episode jumped back in time 140 years, showing us the world before the silos were built. This surprise sets up even more mysteries for the upcoming seasons.

In Season 3, Ashley Zuckerman and Jessica Henwick will join the cast. Fans can also look forward to learning much more about the origins of the silos. According to showrunner Graham Yost, the series has been planned out in detail since its early days.

He revealed to TheWrap that they were given the green light to complete the entire adaptation of Hugh Howey’s books during Season 1.

Yost shared that about five weeks into Season 1, they knew they were going to finish the whole story. Even though the public announcement for additional seasons came later, Apple had already agreed to let them move forward due to the strong audience response.

The series has been so well-prepared that Season 3 is already filming, and the scripts for Season 4 are completed.

The show originally considered stretching some storylines longer but decided against it. Discussing the creative decisions, Yost explained that they debated how much to reveal in each scene. While the series follows Hugh Howey’s books, there are changes—for example, they altered characters’ names and backstories to better fit the show.

As for how the show will conclude, Yost remained tight-lipped. While the finale has been written, viewers will have to watch to see how it all wraps up. The team, working closely even through Zoom, has created a unique and emotional writing process, bringing everyone involved closer together.
